1. Deconstruct Permanence :

Permanence is an illusion
and not because it does not exist
it is the utmost, superior, sublime act
of experiencing love
simply (there is no devotion)
amongst humans

Essaouira Muezzin field recording :

It took 10 hours and a few stops.
Then the desert, into the red.
Nomads, Bedouin, Tuareg, and Berbers they populate a land of clay and kings on the move.
Visible, 'the plateau', flat and linear,
a natural border that beats back.

In remote camps, the noise of electric pumps, wi-fi. Berber women sit alone, rinsing dishes in their tents.
They laugh and wave at me to join.
I record their voices, fixing the hijab on my parka.
Are we all post-humans?

2. Six Degrees of Freedom :

By the Potomac River gusts
affirm their opposition.
Resolute their language
diverts currents.
That wash on the pier
a clash of cultures.

Can you hear the water taxi
the rolling and pitching
to and fro, up and down.

There are six degrees of freedom
systems of bodies may experience
because of motion.
They can move by translation
and rotation, shifting in space

& revolving around a centre
nationality is not pertinent.

3. On Waves of Firm Excursions :

Punctuation is a conventional system to cage cognition into clauses parentheses hashtags Shouldn’t we rebel question mark semicolon guess we should exclamation mark The mind is an ellipsis period

Comes in through the ceiling
On waves of firm excursions
Pain

Remove oneself from oneself
Withdraw, reduce to less
Out of view, veil
The distant closeness
We never lived

Comes in through the feeling
Lethe

4. Millenium :

What if?
Dew, praise of morning
We heard it from deep inside the Earth
One second, one day, one year, a millennium.
Narrative in the now, remote and forthcoming.

What if?
Water, high tide
The sinking city did not pray
its Moses enough
We heard it from high above the sky

What if?
Continents, arguments,
peoples, news, metropolis,
flowers, factories,
volcanoes.

What if?

5. City Lights :

They flicker and spin
radiate and heat, we are
city lights in the landscape.

Do you hear us?

Dancing, colliding, having sex
getting expanded, anaesthetised, bio
-related, polluted, climate changed.
